Heat 1 tablespoon ghee in a pan or wok and add 1 whole bayleaf, 1-inch cinnamon bark, 4-5 cloves to it. Once the cumin seeds start spluttering, add the drained rice to it. Sauté the rice for two minutes on a medium flame. Add two cups of water and salt to the rice and mix well.
