Tamarind is a tart fruit with brown flesh and large seeds encased in a hard brown pod. This contains Vitamin B, carotenes, Vitamin C, potassium and magnesium. It is used in desserts, as a jam, blended into juices, or sweetened drinks, sorbets, ice creams and other snacks.
